Located within The Yards, a bustling mixed-use development in Washington, D.C. along the Anacostia River, the Parcel G building, designed by Gensler, provides an exciting new office setting for the neighborhood. The new office building forms a pair of intersecting arced bars, focusing on views and activities toward the Anacostia and other vistas to the historic Boiler Maker building and Tingey Square. The upper floors sit atop a two-story base, giving scale to the approach and creating continuity for the retail at the street level. The building’s exterior reflects the character of The Yards and the industrial history of the site by using a masonry grid to modulate the long rhythm of the arced facades.
