Louise Olsen, Creative Director of Dinosaur Designs, is never far from inspiration. The latest offering from the company she co-founded with her partner in work and life,Stephen Ormandy,draws on the natural world, fittingly entitled Woodland.Inspired by her childhood years spent in the Australian bush, Olsen has returned to her roots, quite literally, creating a line of homewares and jewellery that pays homage to the landscape. It’s so natural for us to feel comforted by natural organic forms, Olsen says. Now, more than ever, we all want to be closer to Mother Nature.Made from the brand’s signature resin, the line spans salt and pepper grinders, vases, bangles and rings made for stacking. It marks adeparture from their classic vibrant huesand instead, embraces sepia tones that are intermingled with pops of malachite green. “I was inspired by how many possibilities there are in a limited palette, reflects Olsen. It also puts more focus on form.When it comes to interesting shapes—both in homewares and jewellery—few do it better than Dinosaur Designs.
