Capexus, an architecture and interior design firm based in Prague, Czech Republic, recently moved into a new office they designed for themselves. Diversity, flexibility, experientiality, and thoughtful space design ultimately perfectly illustrates the designer’s experience, unique needs, and clear corporate culture.

设计以“living showroom”（工作展厅）为概念，打造一个让客户可以亲眼看到和体验的真实的现代工作场所的样子。

近1,500平方米的室内空间，每个角落都可以找到多样化和创新的设计元素。“设计这处办公室不仅考虑到了我们自己，也考虑到了客户。我们试图创造一个鼓舞人心的多功能空间，在这里你可以去听讲座、开会、喝杯咖啡或设计你的新办公室。给这样一个多功能空间一个迷人的设计表达，同时保持高度的灵活性和可变性，这是一个挑战。

The design is based on the concept of a "living showroom" to create an authentic modern workplace that customers can see and experience with their own eyes. Nearly 1,500 square meters of interior space, diverse and innovative design elements can be found in every corner. "The office was designed not only with ourselves but also with the client in mind. We tried to create an inspiring, multi-purpose space where you can go to a lecture, have a meeting, have a cup of coffee, or design your new office. It was a challenge to give such a versatile space a captivating design expression while maintaining a high degree of flexibility and variability. ”

Collecting feedback is an integral part of the design process, and Lucie Hudak Mala, Head of Workplace Consulting, says: "We are accountable to all people. That’s why we conduct research, conduct in-depth interviews with team leaders, and conduct workshops. "Our office has always been vibrant, and even more so now. That’s why we had to come up with a concept that would provide visitors with a unique experience and showcase the latest design trends. Every step of the way, we surprise you with thoughtful details, original design and attention to quality. It’s like customers choose CAPEXUS. How will the people who visit us react? Monika Younis adds, "They prove that our design intent has truly translated into reality."

Creating a fully functional layout was crucial for us. Our goal was to design an atmosphere of open, clear and open space without sacrificing privacy and acoustic comfort. Work departments that require quieter will be concentrated in the quiet inner courtyard, while the more dynamic form of the sales department will be located closer to the customer area. The magnificent view of the Vltava River and Vysehrad is also an indispensable part of the office. The placement of each meeting room, phone booth, table or chair is discussed by the entire project team.

The floor plan of the office is presented as a two-wing shape. On one side is the design and drawing team, and on the other side is the team that builds and executes. The coffee bar in the center is like a link between the two sections. The positioning of the team is partly a reflection of the logical sequence in which we design and build the project. The emphasis on flexibility also brings with it a high degree of variability in work patterns, which continues to change throughout the workday.

工作空间也是展厅

The workspace is also a showroom

"We had a clear vision for the design of the new office. We wanted to showcase all the trends and possibilities for ceilings, floors, walls, finishes and interior furniture, while maintaining a uniform design concept. Our ’living showroom’ took months to create, and we realized that designing an office for ourselves was a completely different guideline than designing an office for someone else."

办公室的配色体现了不同的工作社区（建筑师、销售人员、成本经理……）。主要材料包括实木（天然桦木胶合板）、玻璃（透明、有色、肌理和曲面）和金属。

线性灯具设定了空间的动线方向；

圆形灯具则主宰了工作站和咖啡区。

值得一提的还有大量鲜活的或人造的各种形式的植物，它们或悬挂在顶上或攀援在墙面上。

The color scheme of the office reflects the different working communities (architects, salespeople, cost managers...). The main materials include solid wood (natural birch plywood), glass (transparent, tinted, textured and curved) and metal. Linear luminaires set the direction of movement in the space; Circular luminaires dominate the workstations and café areas. It is also worth mentioning the large number of plants in various forms, living and man-made, that are either hung from the ceiling or climbed on the wall. The vivid green wall creates a unique decorative effect, enhances the comfort of the space, and brings a unique emotional experience.

In addition, the artwork custom-designed by artist Marek Ehrenberger is a feature of the project, which also communicates the company’s values and supports the creation of an environment. Speaking of benefits, our colleagues also have access to the yoga room for work seminars, training and exercises, as well as the spa room for relaxation and massages.

It creates a pleasant place for specific events such as large corporate gatherings, communal lunches, our famous Monday breakfasts or regular Christmas cookie baking. It’s these thoughtful details that bring our team together and make the office more than just a place to work.
