“未来岛屿”，新西兰 / Kathy Waghorn and Charles Walker

“未来岛屿”有三个主题：建筑如何回应国家日益多样化的现状；不断变化的建筑实践的本质；以及在创作假想式的项目时，建筑师肩负的专业与社会责任。

Future Islands has three main themes: architectural responses in a country of increasing diversity; the unsettled and changing nature of architectural practice; and the professional and social responsibility of architects to engage in speculative projects.

展览设计从卡尔维诺的小说《看不见的城市中》获得灵感，后者讲述了威尼斯旅人马可波罗告诉忽必烈的55个关于美好城市，即威尼斯的故事。此次展览从多个角度展示同一课题：新西兰的当代建筑实践。

在“未来岛屿”中，建筑作品按照字面的意思被呈现在一个个漂浮的岛屿上。建筑师之间的距离或远或近，但他们都位于同一片海域中。展览由22个从天花板上悬吊下来漂浮在空中的体量组成。搁置或者围绕着这些“岛屿”，摆放着来自新西兰建筑师和学生创作的50个建筑的超过100个建筑模型。其中一些项目已经建成，另一些则纯粹是假想式的，但它们都对当代建筑师发起了挑战，吸引了他们的目光，同时展示出世界的无限可能。

The exhibition is inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel Invisible Cities, in which the Venetian traveller Marco Polo tells the Kublai Khan 55 tales about wondrous cities, all of which turn out to be stories about one city: Venice. In Future Islands architecture is presented, literally, as an archipelago of practices. Architects might exist in closer or more distant relationship to each other, but they are all located in the same sea. The exhibition consists of 22 floating forms, suspended from the ceiling of the host palazzo. Placed on or around these “islands” are more than 100 architectural models, representing 50 projects designed by New Zealand architects and students. Some of the projects have been built, and others were intended to be purely speculative. Together, they suggest the world of possibilities that both challenge and engage today’s architects.
