项目用地位于广州南沙明珠湾区核心地段,位于蕉门水道与凫洲水道交汇处,规划上强调以高水平的对外开放,推进建设为全省首个未来城市示范区。广州市南沙小学(珠江湾校区)是一所30班全日制小学,总建筑面积约为1.3万㎡。校园与珠江入海口仅有一条绿道的距离,是南沙距离大海最近的一所学校。南沙小学教育集团旗下学校各有定位,本校区契合区域规划的理念,以“科技+体艺”为特色,以智慧赋能,旨在打造学习新生态。
The site is located at the core of Nansha Pearl Bay Area in Guangzhou, which is at the intersection of Jiaomen Waterway and Fuzhou Waterway, with the regional planning emphasizing high-level opening up and promotes the construction of the first provincial future urban demonstration zone. Guangzhou Nansha Primary School (the Pearl River Bay Campus) is a 30 class primary school with a total construction area of about 13000㎡. Only one greenway from the Pearl River estuary, the campus is the nearest school to the sea in the district. Given the fact that each school under the Nansha Primary School Education Group has its own positioning, in line with the regional planning, this campus aims to construct a new learning system with characteristics of technology, sports and arts.

01 未来:一种方向 Future as a direction
随着《南沙方案》的快速推进,域内人口规模迅速膨胀,项目周边小区居民众多,对学位需求急剧扩增。伴随着教育的革新,单一功能的教学空间已不能满足未来的教学需求,学科融合、多元教育、体验式学习等先锋模式的引入,亟待一种有别于传统的组织模式的出现,因而催生了南沙中小学设计“先行先试”的行动策略。本案设计的重点在于,如何突破传统中小学效率至上的刻板印象,创造出面向未来的一种自由、开放、流动的校园空间模式。

With advancements of ‘The Nansha Plan’, the population size in the area has rapidly expanded, and there are many residents in surrounding communities of the site, leading to a sharp increase in demand for schooling. First and foremost, with educational reform, the single functional teaching space can no longer meet future demands. Moreover, the introduction of cutting-edge models such as subject integration, diversified education, and experiential learning urgently requires the emerging model that is different from traditional ones. Therefore, it has given rise to the ‘trial’ strategy in designing schools in Nansha. The focus of this case falls on how to break through the efficiency-prioritised stereotype among primary and secondary schools, to create an infinite, open, and flowing campus model for the future.

02 布局:一种策略 Configuration: A Strategy
东侧和北侧被高层住宅包围,对场地有一定压迫感,间距退让、规范及舒适度要求、教学功能划分等限定条件,使建筑以紧张的用地策略布局。从日照方面考虑,校区按东西向分为运动场和教学区动静两区;同时,基于声环境对学习生活的影响,从南北向分为专业教室与日常教室,两者通过行政办公与公共教室等综合功能相连接;最后,为疏导交通流线,集中式的功能空间,如图书馆、餐厅、体育器材室等与地面结合,支撑起整体教学功能。以此围合成连贯的折线形体量,布局更紧凑,各种设施密切联系,一气呵成。
With the east and north sides surrounded by tall residential buildings, a sense of pressure is generated to the site. Additionally, limited conditions such as space concessions, standards and comfortable requirements, and division of teaching functions lead to the project layout with a tight land strategy. From the perspective of sunlight, the campus is divided into two zones as the sports field and calssroom buildings in an east-west direction. Meanwhile, based on the impact of sound environment, it is divided into specialty classrooms and ordinary classrooms from north to south, which are connected through comprehensive functional space such as administrative offices and public classrooms. Finally, to facilitate traffic flow, centralized functional spaces such as the library, restaurants, sports equipment rooms, etc. are utilizing ground floor to support the overall teaching facility. A coherent polygonal-line shape is formed with the aforementioned logic, resulting to a more compact layout, where various facilities are closely connected.

通过对建筑体量的调整,拉开间距并置入庭院空间,以争取更多的活动区域,同时获取良好的东南季风。在此规划策略下,教学密度基本集中在无干扰变量的北侧,使得悬浮的活动平台以敞开的姿态面向南侧珠江面。
By adjusting the volume, and spacing and implanting courtyards in-between, more playgrounds available for children are gained while obtaining a favorable southeast monsoon. By this planning strategy, the teaching density is basically concentrated on the north with non-interference variable, making the suspended platform open to the Pearl River.

03 空间:一种系统 Space: A System
校园,不只是一个单向的学习地点,更是一个充满各种可能性、互动性、创造性、挑战性的复合聚落。底层架空形成连续的地面空间,以回应当地的亚热带海洋性季风气候。在满足遮阳、通风、避雨需求的同时,形成架空层檐下空间和屋顶活动平台。
Campus is not just a one-way learning place, but also a composite settlement full of various possibilities, interactivity, creativity, and challenges. The bottom level is elevated to form a continuous ground space in response to the local subtropical oceanic monsoon climate. At the same time as meeting the needs of shading, ventilation, and rain protection, it forms the open floor under the eaves and playing grounds on the roof.

在校园各单体之间构建大板,与景观内院及各楼层的连廊构成立体、连续、流动、通透的公共空间系统,营造校园内界面。通过连廊和平台的连接,形成多层次开放空间,而中间的连续体强化了分层的模糊性以及垂直空间的渗透性。一方面,师生可便捷、舒适、安全地往返校园内任何一个空间;同时,大量地面活动空间得以释放,把自由奔跑的权利还给孩子。
Building a huge platform between individual buildings, a three-dimensional, continuous, flowing, and transparent public space system is formed with the courtyards and corridors, which creates an interface within the campus. By connecting corridors and platforms, a multi-level open space is formed, and the middle continuum enhances the ambiguity of layering and the permeability of vertical space. With such space, tutors and students commute through conveniently, comfortably, and safely to any space on campus; simultaneously, a large amount of playing grounds are released, returning children the right to run.

体育馆为三层通高的大空间体量,以大跨度结构梁组展示消除冗余的力量感。天光自顶棚天窗进入,带来充足自然光的同时,消解了大空间的厚重感。
The gymnasium is a large space with a three-storey height, showcasing a sense of power that eliminates redundancy through a large-span structural beam system. The sky-light enters from the ceiling, introducing abundant natural light while dissolving the sense of heaviness.

04 气候:一种变量 Climate: A Variable
在充分利用自然光的同时,为减少亚热带地区强烈的日光对建筑的损害,设计为建筑立面设计不同朝向、不同方式的遮阳策略。南侧朝向同时满足自然光与自然通风要求,需通过对竖向与横向遮阳系统的结合,形成不同尺度的方案。而东侧与北侧因有高层建筑阻挡,以结合交通功能的廊道遮阳为主。
To fully utilize natural light while reduce the damage of strong sunlight to buildings, different shading strategies are designed for building facades with different orientations and methods. The south meets both natural light and ventilation requirements, and different scales of schemes need to be formed by combining vertical and horizontal shading systems. On the east and north sides, due to the obstruction of high-rise buildings, corridors combined with transportation functions are mainly used.

虽然有限的城市空间在不断扩张,但高效的空间不一定是压迫的、程式化的,也可以是丰富的、有趣的,甚至意料之外的。学校建筑是最好的教材,我们希望让有限的空间发挥最大的价值,从空间的角度对教育模式进行探索,从而创造出适应于未来教育的,行为和场所相融合的学习场所。
Although limited urban space is constantly expanding, efficient space is not necessarily oppressive or formulaic, but can be rich, interesting, and even unexpected. The architecture of school is the best textbook, and we hope to maximize the value of limited space by exploring educational models from a spatial perspective, in order to create a learning place that integrates behaviour and place that designed for future education.
