Name: Honchara apartment
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Project year: 2024
Area: 56 sq m
Today I'm starting to share with you a new apartment project in a 124-year-old building.
The client's task was to create a bright, spacious interior filled with an art collection and modern furniture. In this post, you can see the kitchen and hallway area. The kitchen is 3.7 meters high, so we needed a ladder for the upper storage drawers, which can be installed on a rail and reached the top point. In the dining area, I combined Fritz Hansen chairs (Jacobsen 3107) with a simple table and an IKEA pendant ;) We aim for beauty but also keep an eye on savings.
Initially, we wanted to make a combined kitchen-living room, but then decided to give the space the function to separate as desired. This is facilitated by a sliding system with ribbed glass, which can visually separate the kitchen from the living room while still allowing natural light to pass through. You may have noticed the absence of curtains or blinds; their function is performed by wooden shutters located on the balcony, which, in my opinion, is a non-standard solution for an apartment in Kyiv. Overall, I really enjoyed developing these visualizations, and I'm glad the client listens to and supports various solutions, as this means there is a connection, which is very important in our field.
