Contextual framework

Suesca is a municipality located north of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia, located on the eastern mountain range which is part of the mountain system of the Andes, has a rich history that can be divided into two major stages, the pre-Columbian and the Spanish conquest. During its pre-Columbian period, the town of Suesca stood out as an indigenous settlement of great spiritual and ritual importance for the Muisca indigenous people who inhabited it, due to its relationship with the great stone mountains that surround the territory as a sacred site of worship to the gods. However, its name derives from the Muisca language, in this way the prefix "sue" means bird and the subfix "hyca" means rock or stone, so that simplified it means "rock of the birds". During the stage of the Spanish conquest, the municipality served as a shelter for the exploratory campaign of the conqueror Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada, so much so that it is there where the first indoctrination centers for indigenous and mestizos were built in the country and particularly where Quesada built his house of rest, to enjoy the landscape and climate of this territory. Today the municipality of Suesca has about 15,000 inhabitants, and its main economic activity is the planting of agricultural products and flowers, in addition to sports tourism, taking advantage of its ecological and topographic appeal to carry out hiking and rock climbing activities, attracting tourists from all the world.

Justification

The population of the municipality is composed of 7% in children between the ages of 0-6 years, this means around 900 children inhabit this territory and there is a deficit in educational facilities that meet the existing and future population demand, for this reason it is necessary an educational facility directed specifically to the children of this municipality.

Theoretical framework

Creativity, understood as the ability or ability to create something original, is fostered within the project and educational model, in the way that students' curiosity is promoted, stimulating children to choose freely and to their liking the nucleus of learning that best suits your particular interest. Within these teaching nucleus, children are in charge of, through experimentation and guidance from a tutor, explore and discover their interests and talents; Develop them, and equally important share them with their peers and families through a versatile and flexible infrastructure that allows interaction between children.

Project Framework

The project is located in the urban center of the town, on the train track of the Bogotá savanna, facing the rock walls of the municipality's cliffs, as a strategic point of cultural development of the town, which emulates its ancestors and value its ecological potential. The building seeks to adapt and emulate the topography in which it is located, creating polyhedra or volumes that contain the classrooms specialized in the main educational nucleus of teaching (literacy, gymnastics and corporal expression, music, plastic arts, logical rationing and nature). These nucleus are organized like scattered stones in the territory united by an active circulation in the educational process that conduces to a green terrace that functions as a new given space to enjoy the views of the landscape, and can be used by the kids for their ludic, exploration and learning process.
