Customizing the Menlo Park Connect 12

Connect Homes has delivered 109 homes so far, with Menlo Park Connect 12 being their 23rd house. The client required a spacious home on a narrow, non-conforming lot, prompting Connect to design a custom solution.

Innovative Architectural Design

The house features a long, thin bar that turns 90 degrees to engage with the front yard, showcasing a stunning clear cedar wood interior. A steel-stringer stairway leads to the second floor, offering a seamless transition between levels.

Maximizing Outdoor Engagement

Focusing on side yard engagement, the house features a South-facing pocket dining deck. An entire glass wall retracts in-wall, seamlessly connecting the kitchen to an outdoor eating area. Additionally, a prefab steel-frame Connect Carport is situated under a massive heritage oak, a signature feature of this part of Menlo Park.

Delivery Day Photos and Challenges

Photos from the delivery day reveal that the house was 90% completed in the factory. The team had to employ exotic methods to navigate the oak tree while handling large modules, showcasing their problem-solving abilities.
