About Apartment 120 mq
A Modern Makeover for a Milan Apartment
A design-savvy young couple has dramatically transformed a 120-square-meter (1,291-square-feet) top-floor apartment in a 1980s residential building in Milan’s province. Retaining the original double access from the previous fusion of two apartments, the new floor plan incorporates light glazed partitions to separate some rooms. Custom-designed furniture features throughout the home, seamlessly integrating with the architecture.
Innovative Living Space with a Dual-Purpose Divider
Upon entering, the spacious living room greets visitors. A bi-facial furniture element cleverly divides the room into two distinct areas, functioning as a TV cabinet on one side and a dining room storage unit for plates and glasses on the other. The dining area connects directly to the kitchen through glazed sliding doors, creating an open and inviting atmosphere.
Contemporary Kitchen with a Country Twist
The custom-designed kitchen showcases a contemporary, minimalist design with a hint of country charm. This is evident in the doors that resemble traditional English and Provençal rusticated doors. The space strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and rustic warmth.
Master Bedroom: A Suite Retreat
The master bedroom is designed as a luxurious suite, complete with an en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and study nook. Its layout offers a sanctuary for relaxation and comfort, making it the perfect escape after a long day.
Sophisticated Color Palette
Soft, neutral tones of light gray, beige, and sage green define the living area’s color scheme, accented by contrasting darker elements, such as the anthracite tones of the kitchen, dining table, and select furniture pieces. The sleeping area favors blue hues, which are present in the furniture and marble-effect tiles of the en-suite bathroom, creating a tranquil and restful atmosphere.
