STATUS: Concept
Arches is a housing project carried out in CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) and HSB (Timber Frame Construction).
The building consists of different shapes that are stacked onto each other. This choice of varied shapes creates different living spaces that vary between 60 and 120 m2.
This building plays with the concept of envelopment in relation to the sensitivity of living. The shape bends over different domains within the household and therefore opens and encloses the different functions.
The structure of the building provides an easy solution for installing windows and doors.
On the inside of the house, the round shapes are created by using felt. This provides a round and soft appearance without constructions that are difficult to engineer.
