Coastal Compound 卡尔是一座沉浸在海滨景观中的住宅，其灵感来自贝莱尔豪宅等结构，以及坚固而野蛮的形式。

Coastal Compound Carl is a residence immersed in the seaside landscape, inspired by structures such as the Belaire mansion, as well as its sturdy and savage form.

The coastal courtyard is spacious and peaceful, with no apologies for the size of its footprint. "There are rest and entertainment spaces suitable for large or small gatherings throughout the year," said Chris McCue, Managing Director of Carr.

In order to blur the boundary between the interior and exterior, the main living areas are generously open to the landscape, encouraging activities between enclosed and open spaces. Carl ensures that the entire residence has the familiar lightness expected of coastal residences, while also incorporating a certain degree of durability suitable for the corrosive elements of the region.

Although not the main residence, convenience and luxury are part of the design focus to ensure a certain degree of comfort and longevity. In order to accommodate family units over time, the size of this courtyard is no different from that of a boutique hotel. Equipped with a private swimming pool, multiple outdoor terraces, and tennis courts, there is no need to leave after check-in. "We want a unique and pure form that embraces the natural contours deep within the venue, in order to capture sunlight throughout the year," Chris said.

Although on a large scale, it is clearly an effort to not overwhelm the landscape. "We decomposed the overall form to avoid completely singular results," Chris said. "We separate the shapes and bend them to the corners to truly embed coastal complexes into the landscape and create their appearance that evolved from the soil." As Chris described, the importance of concrete is "a hymn to the emergence of beastly shelters from coastal landscapes," as it needs to withstand the environment, wind, and rust.
