Drawing Inspiration from Portugal

The primary inspiration for the Syta Street apartment project in Warsaw, Poland, stemmed from the investors’ travels, particularly their visit to the town of Monsanto in Portugal. The striking beauty of this town left such a lasting impression that a golden stone, reminiscent of Monsanto, was incorporated as the focal point of the apartment’s design.

Adapting to Family Needs

Originally, the apartment featured a living room with an integrated kitchenette and two bedrooms. However, this layout didn’t meet the needs of the investors who had children. To create an additional bedroom without sacrificing living room space, they introduced a cube at the center of the apartment, enclosed by the captivating golden stone. This new bedroom, which includes a bathroom at the end, serves as a pass-through space.

Embracing Industrial Charm

Syta Street’s design deviates from the conventional family apartment. Distinctive design elements such as floor-to-ceiling doors, exposed walls, and unfinished ceilings contribute to the raw, industrial ambiance of the space. A concrete poured floor and bare structural components, like reinforced concrete columns, enhance the aesthetic. The developers intentionally preserved as much of the original space as possible, aiming to minimize the production of unnecessary interior design elements.
