Project for the Orgatec 2018 booth in Cologne, Germany. This captivating stand draws inspiration from traditional Portuguese tiles, aiming to celebrate and promote our rich cultural heritage. The timeless beauty of the tiles, renowned for their intricate patterns and craftsmanship, creates a striking contrast against the clean lines and modern design of the booth and exhibited furniture.
The booth design incorporates four distinct colors on each side, representing the characteristic hues found in Portuguese tilework. These colors not only pay homage to the traditional material but also infuse the space with vibrancy and visual interest. While the exterior of the booth showcases an array of tiles with different patterns, the interior space, including the walls and flooring, is elegantly covered in carpeting of the same color palette. This consistent color scheme creates a harmonious backdrop, allowing the exhibited furniture to take center stage.
Nestled in the heart of the stand, a cozy seating area emerges, enveloped in cork—a material deeply rooted in Portuguese culture. The use of cork adds a touch of authenticity and warmth, inviting visitors to relax and engage in the booth's inviting ambiance.
The Orgatec 2018 booth project artfully blends the charm of traditional Portuguese tiles with contemporary design elements, offering a captivating glimpse into our cultural heritage. It serves as a testament to the timeless appeal and versatility of Portuguese aesthetics, leaving a lasting impression on attendees from around the world.
