A new space in the heart of Brera thought to talk about materials in a theatrical manner: Lapalma is part of the cast of this scenic machine.

Downtown of Milan opens FENIX® Scenario, a flexible project designed around a multifunctional concept. Imagined as a stimulating space where designers and architects can find inspiration and interact with materials and objects of design, Lapalma furniture have been selected as interpreters of this materials.

The Gio Tirotto studio, responsible for the layout project, imagined “a concept of a place where professionals can find the materials represented as interactive inspiration, just as if it were a real theatre.”  The outcome is a new scenic structure, where the various areas of the space are transformed thanks to movable furniture. Volumes, display spaces and materials interact with their various characteristics. With FENIX, the other brands in the group are co-protagonists of the space: Arpa, Formica®, GetaLit®, Getacore and Homapal. As a result, different scenarios take shape and give rise to a multitude of representations, where visitors are given the opportunity to be in the spotlight, not passive onlookers.  The materials are the protagonists starting with the window displays.  And visitors are perfectly welcomed by “Cirrus”, a sculpture by Zaha Hadid, the outcome of the creative interaction of shapes, materials and techniques. Created in 2008 in black Formica ®laminate, FENIX is definitely a protagonist in the three levels of the surface it presents. It is not only a materials library, the real hub of the space where materials are made available to designers and architects for creating instant mood boards, but also a lounge space, with different areas dedicated to the light office. 

Here, we can find furniture by Lapalma, selected together with the artistic director Francesco Rota. Since 2013, the year FENIX was presented, Lapalma has realised the potential of this material, immediately appreciating its exceptional technical and aesthetic features. Still today, the company adorns many of its collections with its natural soft touch.
