VELLALORE BUS TERMINAL PROJECT
In the Coimbatore region, demand for public transports is increasing over time including demand for inter and intra-city buses. there is a huge deficit in transportation terminus and facilities. There is a shortage of appropriate land to develop the required facilities within the main city area
The main characteristic of Bus terminals is their convergence function, because they serve as important nodes of transfer between different modes. These nodes are the focus of passenger activity, which is a potential ingredient for a vibrant city space, The aim of the design to create a vast scale bus terminus with a holding capacity of 250 buses that is organised according to their functioning routes. another objective of the design was to create a potentially transit oriented development within the campus itself housing various office spaces residential stays and hotels,restaurants, showrooms and various aspects contibuting to a mixed use development.
The feeder bays has a feature of earth bermend roof that grows grass,small plants and bushes that would act as a insulation layer and contributes significantly to the level of heat radiation from built surfaces. These bays are linked to a pedestrian bridge that is connected to both terminals for easier and safer pedestrian flow.

LOCAL TERMINAL T2
The local bus terminal will facilitate the rapid transitions of people within the local city level.One of the charateristic of people who intend to travel in the local bus is the minimal usage of the building itself. Therefore priority is given to the design of local terminal feeder bays with proper amenities suiting the preferences of the people.
The local terminal houses the local transit function and distribution of passengers through bridges to concerns bus bays for the interstate and intrastate transit flow-it has an aquaponic greenhouse as the front facade that welcomes cooler air facilities a local market for fish and vegetable passengers are welcomed into the main gathering space through ramps and from there distributes to various facilities bus bays and the main terminal building.
The local bus feeder bays are designed with amenities like kiosks,toilets, and drinking water facilities. The roofs of these bays are also earth covered to contribute to the vegetative cover lost during construction. green infrastructure can help reduce water pollution by absorbing and filtering stormwater. It simultaneously provides a natural relief to the built environment, improves the street aesthetic and delivers benefits to the community
the bus terminal features a sky dome on its terrace to catch rain water and it is sent to the water treatment plant via drains that run along the site road.
