Historically, plazas have been central to the social, cultural, and economic life of cities. Plazas provide public space for people to g ather, celebrate, and trade in the marketplace. In areas like TATABAD, which has a good balance of residential,commercial and institutional zones

The form concept has been derived from the iconic agoras of ancient Greece and amalgamated with adaptable tensile shading technology from the modern era, resulting in an attempt to create an architectural icon for Coimbatore

DESIGN THEORY OF THE NEW URBAN PLAZA The objective of the public space is to be attractive, safe, and comfortable to a variety of users and at different times of the day. A cafeteria, play facilities or community uses, circuit training facilities, food kiosks, local trade facilities, jogging track, an open-air theatre, canopy walk, bicycling tracks, drive-in cinema, exhibition area, a forum to conduct conventions  and inclusive activities overlooked by a proper management body within the site itself can assist in activating the public space and hence taken into this design
