The winner project of public space renovation of the historical centre of Sant Pere de Riudebitlles (Catalonia) was called WATERLINES in the ideas competition proposal. The project was based on the geometry of water lines: the reintroduction of irrigation ditches of the village's paper mills hydraulic network and the trace of pavement valleys. Furthermore, in the new pavement the reuse of the existing stone kerbs creates accumulations, like sediments, in front of the historical protected buildings of the town centre.

The proposed irrigation ditches finish in singular points of the urban fabric. In these points, the metal ditches proposed unfolds into a pond and into a metallic grating structure built for the growth of climbing plants. These grating structures take on different forms and functions: door-umbraculum, wall-pergola or railing-belvedere.

The first phase of the works has focused on renovating the public space of the main street of the town centre, Carrer Major.
