San Pietro in Casale railway station

has undergone a general redevelopment promoted by RFI – (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, the Italian railway infrastructure manager). The work is part of the industrial plan of the parent company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (the state-owned holding company that manages the Italian railway system’s infrastructure and services) that aims to strengthen the centrality of some of the national network's stations.

The redevelopment work on the San Pietro in Casale railway station was carried out with the aim of improving the station’s usability by making it easier to access the platforms, and renovating the waiting room and the underpass. The building was also fitted out with a new LED lighting system to reduce energy and maintenance costs.

 and 

 outdoor linear profiles, with diffuse optics and 3700K white light, were recessed into the canopies above the waiting areas, and into the walls of the underpass to pick out the stairs leading to the platforms. The same fixtures were installed flush with the surface in the bike park roofs.

The 

linear profiles chosen for this project ensure continuity of light between the fixtures and focus attention on the light output alone.
