The Hippolytushoef Child Center was built on the current location of De Kei. The existing building was not suitable for modern education and was largely demolished. However, the front building of De Kei forms a characteristic face to the Elft and has been retained in the proposal. In particular, the support functions are housed in the front building, so that the classrooms, which are organized around the learning plazas, are optimally placed in the new building. The learning plazas, around which the classrooms are located, form the central areas of the building. Lesson activities take place here in different group compositions. The Escher-like central staircase connects the floors in several ways. This includes a grandstand, a stage, toilets and storage rooms, but perhaps more importantly: here the children can discover...
