72 new childcare spaces for infants to grade 5 were created in this building, named či čʊy ʔaye (Children's House) in the language of the Indigenous Tla'amin Nation. The site is adjacent to an existing daycare centre that was too small for the growing indigenous village. In response to the recent treaty that granted Tla'amin Nation sovereignty over their homelands, the new building more than doubles the number of childcare spaces while celebrating the vibrant Tla’amin culture.
