Situated at the periphery of Utrecht's newly developed district Leidsche Rijn Centrum, lies the park Plantsoen Hof van Boedapest. This area is characterized by new social housing, educational institutions, commercial establishments, and civic amenities such as a cinema. Despite the densely built environment, the overall planning exudes a sense of spaciousness, owing in part to the presence of a historic farm at its centre and its integration with green spaces. The presence of water bodies and nearby sports facilities further enhances the spatial experience. Additionally, the design incorporates broad green axes that connect to adjacent parks.

A notable architectural feature of Plantsoen Hof van Boedapest is an elongated building adorned with carefully crafted arches. While resembling a railway bridge from a distance, a closer inspection reveals glass facades within the arches, housing various creative enterprises. Strategically positioned, this complex subtly bridges the height differential within the Leidsche Rijn Centrum housing estate. Balustrades and a central staircase, interspersed with greenery, encourage exploration and engagement with the surroundings.

A prominent green element is the double row of large lime trees, forming a verdant barrier. Positioned along the garden's periphery, these

'Greenspire' trees are essentially part of a rooftop garden integrated into the park. Structural beams were strategically installed atop the roof to accommodate the tree roots, resulting in significant spatial expansion. Despite limited root volume, meticulous preparation facilitated the rapid establishment of the envisioned green canopy.

Despite its location amidst a bustling residential enclave, the park projects an ambiance of openness and verdancy, attributed to its well-defined design elements and judicious plant selection. The double row of lime trees serves as a distinctive green focal point, imparting a sense of grandeur and natural enclosure.
