Disha Sharma’s very first designer store is an ensemble of contrasts housing her contemporary clothing brand that she defines as comfortable and confident, powerful and feminine, new-age and timeless. 

During our initial discussions with the designer, we observed that each piece of clothing that Disha creates seems like a perfect collaboration of two totally distinct personalities who nurture each other’s individual authentic identities and yet retain the charm of their relationship. 

The selected store space seemed to be disconnected and divided in two parts, so we added curved walls inside the store connecting the large main space to the narrow wing. This made the transition seamless, hence the store appeared cohesive.

A monochromatic colour palette was introduced in the space which allowed the clothes to stand out and be truly appreciated for their designs. We played with both black and white colour tones to further reinstate the story of bringing contrasts together. A straight lined vocabulary of flutes on the white curved walls with the timeless black Italian marble chosen for the floor subtly emphasised the concept that one can be feminine yet powerful. Also, to bring in a sense of luxury and refinement in the space,we added brass hanging rods. 

After deeply understanding her concepts of fallen drapes and layering of different fabrics, Disha in her clothing always left room for the end user to explore their own creativity in wearing the outfit by making it multi-usable. Translating this  idea into a space, we carved out niches inside the walls for the store manager to change her display of accessories every now and then. 

A combination of displays were identified and carefully placed alongside the curved walls in the store so that the user’s curiosity is retained and they engage with most of the collection displayed at the store. 

Hence, as subtle as the space looks, it silently invites the user to experience the designer’s vision of creating timeless & heroic artistic pieces.
