Reflecting the essence of its inhabitant's unique personality,
this house encapsulates her diverse traits and experiences
Exploring this apartment is like delving into the vibrant persona of its 60+-year-old inhabitant: a traveler, driver, KKL ranger, skipper, and daughter of a shipbuilder and Shayetet 13 founder. Shaped like a half-circle and adorned with wood, the house conveys a yacht-like ambiance, enhanced by its two-directional layout creating a sense of motion – the main route leading from the entrance to the balcony, offering scenic views, while the secondary leads towards the bedroom and closet area.
As a keen lover of Scandinavian culture, the owner is fond of wood, wool, and ceramics, which are cleverly integrated throughout the space.
From 90 cm high wooden paneling that spans the house to wool as a prominent textile choice and large ceramic displays, as well as an artful ceramic drape-covered light fixture.
Wood also serves as a practical solution for the substantial storage demands. Creatively designed, the numerous hidden wooden closets house the owner's extensive collections and hobbies, seamlessly blending with the overall design without overpowering it. Additionally, wood is utilized to separate different spaces, such as the intimate, light-filled working corner.
While the house's color palette and material selection lean towards quiet and pale tones, complemented by the use of slightly rough textiles and textures, its focal point is the kitchen and dining area dominated by a black tone. This unique combination manages to both highlight and disrupt the overall serene ambiance.
