HEWITT designs buildings in the fabric of the city – the places where people live, work and shop. These spaces must be more than functional – they need to be places where people want to be. Our latest project, Skyglass, is an example of not just creating space, but our belief in the importance of adding poetry to the spaces we make.

Skyglass公寓坐落于西雅图快速发展的地区——South Lake Union的中心,是一座最近刚刚完成的33层商住混合型住宅塔楼。由来自HEWITT建筑事务所的Julia Nagele设计,Skyglass公寓综合了两种尺度和表达方式。在街道层面,建筑以人的尺度回应街区,同时和包括Elliot湾、Cascade山和Lake Union在内的更远、更大的环境产生联系。塔楼的可触达的裙楼为上方起伏的塔楼提供了稳定性,同时也为下方多样化、人性化尺度的街景提供了空间。在裙楼之上,塔楼轻微的扭转并持续的改变形状。外立面被部分反光玻璃包裹,反射出天空中不断移动的太阳与云层。

Skyglass is a recently completed, 33-story, mixed-use residential tower in the heart of South Lake Union, Seattle’s fastest growing neighborhood. Designed by Julia Nagele of HEWITT, Skyglass operates at two scales and with two expressions. The building responds to the streetscape at a human scale while connecting with larger, more distant contexts, including Elliot Bay, the Cascade Mountains and Lake Union. The tower’s tactile podium provides stability between the undulating tower above while accommodating a diverse, human-scale streetscape below. Above the podium, the tower shifts and constantly changes form. Wrapped in partially reflective glass, the facades are ephemeral and reflect and move along with the sun and clouds across the sky.
