The client for House of Grey's latest workspace project in Shoreditch, East London, shared their vision of a workplace without burnout, where quality of life is held in high esteem. The final outcome is a space that offers the comfort and contentment that can be felt at home.

Whilst the option of remote working provides flexibility, it doesn't provide the integral connectedness we intrinsically need. The workspace itself plays a big part in creating a sense of community and contentment for people. This was the driving force behind House of Grey creating their latest commercial workspace."Moving away from working remotely, is widely seen as a negative. Yet while many of us now crave flexibility, we also crave a human connection at work. How employers and employees negotiate and balance these two, seemingly opposing forces, takes empathy, understanding and trust." - Louisa Grey

House of Grey used their Circular Salutogenic Design principles, aiming to work with non-toxic, natural resources and materials which have been harvested directly from the earth. An example of this are the hanging panels in the reception made of living bio-textile, as they allow the grounding effect of nature to be felt even in the heart of the city. Through an intuitive design process, the space was developed to achieve the collective ambition of creating a Breeam Excellent Certified building. Wherever the interior project may be located globally, sourcing items locally limits the amount of air miles products fly and reduce the carbon footprint of the spaces House of Grey design, whilst also providing clients with a meaningful connection to these pieces.
