Echo of the past.
Not long ago I was able to re-visit the Leningrad Region, Russia. Once again I found the forest in all its glory. In autumn, nature transforms and prepares for winter.
Walking through the forest, I noticed an abandoned railway station and a railway. I decided to walk along the abandoned railway tracks. WHAT I saw shocked me.
Abandoned bunkers from the Second World War. In my country they call it: The Great Patriotic War. A whole network of bunkers and trenches. All of them are abandoned and overgrown with moss. Trees have already grown on some of them. They stand abandoned, forgotten by everyone in the forest since the end of the war. And the atmosphere and sensations are extremely unusual when you are next to them. It’s hard to imagine that there were once fierce battles here.
