CONCEPT
We faced the task of creating a minimalist interior against the grand architecture of the restaurant’s building.
By combining Mediterranean aesthetics with eco design, we created a welcoming yet generously adorned space.

IN PROGRESS
Garden House Restaurant is located in a historic space that was once a wine shop but underwent restoration and changed its purpose. A white mansion adorned with intricate columns and mouldings, reminiscent of a Mediterranean villa, now hosts the restaurant.
NOW
The restaurant boasts several distinct areas, including a spacious dining hall with an open kitchen and a traditional pizza oven, a charming summer bar, a generously-sized terrace, and an open gallery encircling the pavilion. A unique touch awaits in the dining hall, where a large vintage bathtub on legs replaces the conventional sink, adding a whimsical detail to the space.
Beyond the pavilion, a terrace awaits, enveloped by lush greenery. This serene outdoor space serves as a haven from the city's hustle and bustle, inviting guests to unwind. A woven hammock beckons for relaxation, while cushioned sofas create an intimate atmosphere.
Eco design principles take centre stage in this project, with a deliberate use of natural materials throughout. Light wooden and rattan furniture, intricately woven lamps, cosy hammocks, and soft velvet and linen textiles create an ambiance reminiscent of a serene Mediterranean resort.
Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by four wooden intricately carved doors. Paying homage to the pavilion's rich history, we meticulously preserved the historical chandelier and adorned the windows with carvings and national ornaments, seamlessly blending past and present.
A muted colour scheme echoes the Mediterranean charm, featuring olive hues, delicate blues, and peach tones reminiscent of a tranquil sunset sky. Weathered plaster, paint finishes, and poured floors add some tactile experience.
Lush vegetation in clay pots and straw barrels further enhance the organic atmosphere. Additionally, a small private garden on the mezzanine offers a secluded sanctuary.
