Budapest

- the city of lights

Budapest is one of my favourite cities. It's my second home and I visit it every year.

Last year, I treated my visit to Budapest as a sightseeing tour of every possible part of the city.

I felt not only the architecture, but more importantly the soul of these neighbourhoods, their mood and energy. Each one is specific, each one is original and very often the only link between these districts is the Hungarian language.

The historic core is unchanging and notorious, from the parliament building to the Great Market Hall. The tendency to modernize the city can be seen in the peripheral parts, but the thorn of prefabricated houses cannot be drowned out by new buildings made of metal and glass, but this trend is probably typical for all cities. The ubiquitous lamps and lights of various shapes, however, give the city a cute face that smiles at you on a sunny day and on a rainy night.
