Prague-Chodov - a place where coldness has found its place

I lived here for years. Especially when I started going to university. There are notorious places here for me, from the shopping mall to the adjacent huge forest where I used to go for walks in every season.

I revisited Chodov years later as part of my project to explore the architecture of Prague, and I'm trying to capture the typical mood of the area and how the place affects me.

Chodov is a very cold place, with a short history of a fast-growing area. The place strikes me as a typical location for finding housing for as many people as possible. The ubiquitous chimneys from heating plants supplying endless rows of prefabricated houses are proof of this, as is one of the largest shopping malls in Prague. Simple and purposeful architecture with a minimum of creativity. If you have it in you, you can express it there, if you don't, this place will bury you. That's the feeling I get from Chodov.
