Atelier A 的新作【Beef & Liberty 尚牛社会】是一家连续 8 年被米其林推荐的英式西餐厅，店铺位于上海市浦东区金桥路 535 号 EKA 天物内。EKA 天物是将老厂房改造为艺术品的空间实验创意园区，Beef & Liberty 此次的选址也是在一栋旧厂房改建的建筑内。Atelier A 秉持一贯尊重建筑本身结构的理念，将场地本身的建筑特性和品牌英式餐厅复古的调性融合，让两种文化相隔时空碰撞对话，形意合一。

为了延续品牌的英式调性，我们收集老旧的榆木板材，做旧的纹理和肌理感让英伦风格更加纯粹。

Atelier A’s new creation, Beef & Liberty, is a British style restaurant recommended by Michelin for eight consecutive years, located in EKA Tianwu, No. 535 Jinqiao Road, Pudong District, Shanghai. EKA is an experimental creative park that transforms old factories into works of art, and Beef & Liberty’s site is also located in a converted factory building. Atelier A always respects the structure of the building itself. We hope to integrate the architectural characteristics of the site with the retro style of the English restaurant, allowing the two cultures to collide and dialog across time and space. In line with the brand’s British tone, we collected and used old elm wood panels, as elms are widely used in British architectures.

餐厅有两个外立面。一个位于园区的主街道，原始外立面大面积使用木头，因此我们在这一侧的开口采用了通透的玻璃落地窗，路过的行人将餐厅的景观一览无余，同时也延长了条形空间的内部纵深感。另一个外立面，同时也是餐厅的入口面，设置一排长朝向中庭广场的开窗，窗户延伸至顶部，避免视觉遮挡。上抬窗的开启方式也让室内外的空间相互交流。

The restaurant has two facades. One is located on the main street of the park. The original façade used wood extensively, so we replaced it with translucent glass floor-to-ceiling windows for the openings on this side, where passing pedestrians have an unobstructed view of the restaurant. It also extends the interior depth of the striped space.

The other facade also serves as the entrance to the restaurant, with a long row of casement windows facing the atrium plaza. The windows extend to the top to avoid visual obstruction. The opening of the uplifted windows also allows the indoor and outdoor spaces to communicate with each other.

窗户配件是此次施工的难点。为了达到视线不遮挡，同时满足安全性，我们在设计时将窗户的开启角度设置到了 120°。但实际施工时发现市面上多数窗户五金只能做到开启 90°，无法满足设计需求。为此我们另辟蹊径，找到了专为汽车后备箱盖使用的配件液压杆，它可以允许我们将提升窗开启至最大角度。

Window fittings were the difficult part of this construction. In order to meet the safety requirements without blocking the line of sight, we set the opening angle of the window to 120° during the design. However, during the actual construction, we found that most of the window fittings on the market could only open 90°, which could not meet the design requirements. So we changed our plan and found a hydraulic lever, an accessory designed for use in car trunk lids, which allows us to open the lift-up window to its maximum angle.

餐厅入口设计了一组惊奇柜，既保护顾客的就餐隐私，同时也可以透过柜子影影绰绰看到内部的设计。摆放上古董和植物，氛围拉满。

The entrance to the restaurant was designed with a set of marvelous cabinets, which protect the privacy of the patrons while allowing the interior design to be seen from the outside through the shadows of the cabinets. The arrangement of antiques and plants creates an English atmosphere.

室内的地面我们选用了一款特殊的粉色的马赛克砖。考虑到餐厅整体空间里大量金属和木元素，缺少有强烈个性让人有记忆点的材料。所以我们特别选用了脏粉色，让空间性格特点鲜明起来，明媚有张力。墙面用抹泥的工艺，手工拉制出竖条纹理，肌理感突出，兼具吸音的效果，让沉闷的墙面也有了灵动感。

For the floor of the interior, we chose a special pink mosaic tile. Since the overall space of the restaurant has a lot of metal and wood elements, there is a lack of materials with a strong memorable personality. So we chose a special dirty pink color to give the space a distinctive character, brightness, and intensity. We use a plastering process on the walls, creating hand-pulled vertical stripes for added texture. This prominent texture not only provides a sound-absorbing effect but also brings a sense of animation to otherwise dull walls.

由于是旧店乔迁，所以本次 Recycle 了很多以前店面的家具，如店内的 Ton 座椅和卡座沙发，翻新后重新组合放在全新的空间里。室外也选用了 emeco 的环保再生材料户外椅，彰显品牌可持续和环保理念。

As it is an old store moving to this new address, this time a lot of furniture from the previous store was recycled and utilized, such as Ton chairs and card sofas, which were refurbished and reassembled to be placed in the brand new space. Outdoor chairs made of Emeco’s environmentally friendly recycled materials were also used to emphasize the brand’s sustainable and eco-friendly philosophy.

Atelier A 一贯尊重原始结构，保留了原始顶棚结构，采用局部吊顶。在原始折形钢板天花下，悬挂金属格栅吊顶，承载所有的功能性设备。中间部分为发光灯膜，提供整体空间照明。灯膜两侧是吸音板，格栅吊顶上方安置空调主机等设备，在此处使用吸音板能够做到很好的阻挡噪音的功能。吊顶系统 2.8m 的高度压得比较低，正是这种压迫感加深了纵向的长度，让空间有强对比感。

Underneath the original folded steel ceiling, a metal grille ceiling is suspended to carry all the functional equipment. In the center is a luminous light film, which provides the overall illumination of the space. On both sides of the light film are sound-absorbing panels. Above the grille ceiling, the air-conditioning unit and other equipment are placed, and the use of sound-absorbing panels here can do a good job of blocking noise. The 2.8m height of the ceiling system is relatively low compression, and it is this compression that deepens the vertical length and gives the space a sense of strong contrast.

此次灯光设计与一般的餐厅灯光设计不同，我们希望让空间亮起来，加强空间整体的明亮度。同时射灯避免直射座位区域或者桌子，而是对着墙面照明，通过墙面反射可以点亮空间又避免光线直接照射眼睛。纵向贯穿全场的灯膜将空间整体打亮，这种照明方式柔和而不刺激眼睛。灯光顾问还根据室外光的情况设计了六种不同的灯光模式，随着时间和氛围的变化灵动地调整亮度。

The lighting design is different from the usual restaurant lighting design, as we want to light up the space and enhance the overall brightness of the space. At the same time, the spotlights avoid shooting directly at the seating area or tables, but instead light up the wall, reflecting off the wall to brighten up the space and avoid direct light to the eyes. The light film running vertically through the whole venue will light up the space as a whole. This lighting method is soft and does not irritate the eyes. The lighting consultant also designed six different lighting modes according to the outdoor light, adjusting the brightness flexibly with the time and atmosphere.

这里值得一提的是吊灯的选择。我们此次选用了 Artemide 的 Tolomeo 系列吊灯，摇臂灯的机械感和吊顶的金属格栅相得益彰。利用吊灯的机械摇臂形成了不规则的倾斜角度，打破空间中纵向垂直的线条，使得餐厅中央的视觉效果错落有致，跳跃有趣了起来。

The choice of chandelier is worth mentioning. We chose Artemide’s Tolomeo series chandelier this time, and the mechanical sense of the swing arm light complements the metal grille of the ceiling. The mechanical arm of the chandelier creates an irregular angle of inclination, breaking the vertical lines in the space and making the visual effect in the center of the dining room staggered, jumping and interesting.
