Juanchito Social is a proposal for the Channge Colombia challenge, in which, through Social Design and Open Innovation, a solution is found for a cultural journey to rediscover the identity from within the territory. And thus create with the community social actions to transform it and position it as the flavour of the world.
A cultural journey in which the identity of the population will be built and revived for the population, in order to transform and position Juanchito as the meeting point between salsa and culture.
We will intervene 94th street from the main entrance to the courts. By means of a linear scheme, we propose 5 cultural nodes strategically assigned in Hots points that will be the main spaces to show the essence, interacting with visitors and the community.
People will have a space at the 94th street entrance on the main road, which can be used to tell a story or show the history of Juanchito.
This node is located in the initial area of what used to be the Juanchito rumba, and is intended to encourage the implementation of open spaces used for dancing, history and the creation of salsa culture.
It is proposed right next to the Rumba salsera, designed to be that square and open space where to find food and to be a strategic point to reactivate the economy.
Taking advantage of the new culture of recycling, and the surrounding companies, we want to promote the ideal space to learn, teach and commercialise innovative developments with ecological elements, such as ecological routes, etc.
We rescued the infrastructure and created spaces for community libraries, so that they can take ownership of art and music.
It is the call to action of the identity workshops, the community can intervene the spaces through co-creation according to their needs and functionality, they can create from ecological routes and attractions, to cultural applications of the spaces for fairs and events throughout the year.
By contemplating a digital positioning with tools already created, such as the Somos Juanchito website, the aim is to show these interventions and turn it into a tourist attraction to involve visitors, entities and thus connect the whole community. We are relying on trends such as city tours in 15 minutes.
If social action is cultivated to create culture and create history for future generations, and there is congruence with residents, visitors, space, tourism companies about the presentation of Juanchito, it will change the collective imaginary.It will change the collective imaginary, it will be visualised worldwide and it will be positioned as the flavour of the world.
