In a response to the ravages of war and disease of the early 1920's, clean lines and smooth surfaces stripped of needles clutter is offered as a cleansing, physically and symbolically, from disease and pollution. This profoundly impacts a radical new approach to design. Modernism is born. What will the impact of Covid-19 be? To answer this we need to look at the human response, habits and behaviours of the 2020's.
