Innocent thoughts

In photography I often put emotion through motive - isolating objects, blurring the background, in short emphasizing a small detail, pattern or shape in any way. Even the angle itself can suggest how we are looking at the world at that moment. It is the resonance of our own thoughts and mood with what we are photographing.

For me, it's often about synchronizing the internal passage of time with the movement of the sun across the sky and pressing the shutter at just the right moment. It's about constantly searching for the unseen things we pass by every day in an effort to find understanding of ourselves.

I like to say that photographs are a reflection of ourselves, and it is not for nothing that it is said that you can find the author's signature in photographs in the same way that you can find the writer's signature in books. A writer may describe himself as the author of mystery, horror, social prose or comedy, but how do you call photographs in which you project feelings? Can photos be said to be emotional when they're essentially just capturing the world around us, and as a photographer we have relatively limited space to influence that moment?

Walking outdoors is one of my favorite activities. They are moments when I am alone with myself, with my own thoughts and my own vision of the world. It's even better when I have my camera with me at that moment and can capture through the viewfinder what is happening inside me at that moment.
