Design project of the interior of a two-room apartment for people with visual impairments, Vyshneve, street Education, 19

The project reflects a new approach to solving the problem of movement in premises for people with visual impairments on the example of a project proposal for the organization of a residential interior for a family of visually impaired residents, which was carried out by the author as part of a bachelor's degree.The main design concept is the application of patterns with different tactile materials that are integrated on the floor surface. Templates have the appearance of metal frames of certain geometric shapes filled with various materials. The shape of the frame and the material of the filling should evoke associations with a certain function of the room in the resident of the apartment, which will help a visually impaired person to better understand his location.The idea of ​​using tactile patterns in the interior arose after reading the tactile picture book for blind children "Wonderful World" [Čudesan svijet] is a master's degree project in visual communication developed by designer Zrinka Horvat at the University of Zagreb (Croatia), which includes research, ideation, story writing, design and handcrafting of the model.The color model of the interior involves the use of colors that people with impaired vision can see well: white, black, dark blue and orange. The design of the furniture includes facings with contrasting colors along their perimeter to enhance the expressiveness of the contours.In the opinion of the author, the developed proposals and techniques will enable the visually impaired resident to rely on tactile sensations and associations and, thus, facilitate orientation in the space of the apartment.

Проєкт відображає новий підхід до вирішення проблеми щодо пересування в приміщеннях для людей з вадами зору на прикладі проєктної пропозиції щодо організації житлового інтер’єру для сім’ї слабкозорих мешканців, яка була виконана автором в рамках бакалаврського диплома.Основною концепцією розробки є застосування шаблонів з різними тактильними матеріалами, які інтегровані на поверхні підлоги. Шаблони мають вигляд металевих рамок певних геометричних форм з наповненням різними матеріалами. Форма рамки та матеріал наповнення мають викликати у мешканця квартири асоціації з певною функцією приміщення, що допоможе людині з вадами зору краще зрозуміти своє місцеперебування.Ідея застосування тактильних шаблонів в інтер’єрі виникла після ознайомлення з тактильною книжкою-картинкою для незрячих дітей «Дивовижний світ» [Čudesan svijet] — це магістерський дипломний проєкт із візуальних комунікацій, розроблений від дизайнера Zrinka Horvat в Загребському університеті (Хорватія), який включає дослідження, ідею, написання історії, дизайн та ручне виготовлення моделі.Колористична модель інтер’єру передбачає застосування кольорів, які добре бачать люди з ослабленим зором: білий, чорний, темно-синій та помаранчевий. Конструкція меблів включає обкладки з контрастними кольорами по їх периметру для підсилення виразності контурів.Розроблені пропозиції та прийоми, на думку автора, нададуть можливість слабкозорому мешканцю спиратися на тактильні відчуття та асоціації і, таким чином, полегшать орієнтацію в просторі квартири.
