"If I perish, do not let my paintings die".

Born in Osnabrück in 1904 and murdered in Ausschwitz in 1944. The painter Felix Nussbaum reflected and recorded his experiences as a Jew in National Socialist Germany like no other artist in his paintings. The Felix Nussbaum Haus, located near the Old Town Gate of Osnabrück, is showing more than 200 of his works. The exhibition space was designed by American architect Daniel Libeskind and opened in 1998. The Felix Nussbaum Haus was the very first building realized and opened by him. The acute-angled, fragmented design is very reminiscent of the Jewish Museum he later designed in Berlin.
