The Jogoyudan Community Center site is located at Jalan Kp. Jogoyudan No. 549E, RT. 31/RW. 07, in the Gowongan neighborhood, Jetis district, Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, with a postal code of 55232. The site is situated in a densely populated residential area in an urban village, consisting of small houses and small-scale commercial buildings. The site has an area of approximately 135.83 square meters, with a flat topography and somewhat difficult access. The surrounding environment is inhabited by lower-middle class communities who mostly work in the informal sector, and there are public facilities such as schools, health clinics, and traditional markets nearby.

Jogoyudan Community Center faces various challenges, primarily due to its location being known for pickpocketing incidents. Additionally, the area suffers from economic challenges, which have resulted in a low-income community. The natural environment in the area is also a concern as it has been affected by human activities, resulting in environmental degradation. Another issue in the area is the lack of space for children to play, which has a negative impact on their development. These issues pose significant challenges for the community center’s development as it strives to improve the residents’ economic and social welfare while creating a safe and conducive environment.

GREEN OASIS

This concept focuses on greenery and improving the quality of the environment. The site is designed as a green oasis in the midst of a densely populated residential area. In addition to serving as a public space that provides a venue for social activities, the site also provides a comfortable green area for relaxation and enjoyment.

PLAYFUL SPACE

This concept focuses on the need for a safe and enjoyable play area for children. The site will be filled with various attractive play facilities such as playgrounds and small soccer fields. Additionally, the site is proposed as a location for community events.

CREATIVE COMMONS

This concept aims to facilitate creative and cultural activities. The site will be filled with creative spaces such as art studios, galleries, and performance spaces. Additionally, there will be extensive open areas that can be used for arts and cultural events such as art exhibitions and music performances.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL

This concept involves the use of environmentally friendly materials in building and site design. Recycled wood and other eco-friendly materials can be used to reduce the negative environmental impact of site development. Materials are made modular in order to facilitate construction mobilization.
