OBSERVATORIO DE LECTURA| UNC PROYECTO: DEL TODO LA ARTICULACIÓN ARMÓNICA DE LAS PARTES

Habitar un pabellón para evocar relajación y lectura. Al recorrer el espacio se vió la necesidad de un lugar de permanencia y resguardo del clima, con relación directa al parque y a sus alrededores. Entonces se planteó un pabellón con superficies prefabricadas de madera delgadas, estereotómicas y sencillas, que al repetirlas formaran un todo estereotómico. Lo último tanto para enmarcar la vista del peatón que recorre el Parque de la Virgilio Barco hasta el espacio 3, como para darle más privacidad y calma en el interior. Por fuera parecen dos Cs ortogonales, pero el interior está lleno de curvas que aumentan o disminuyen el altura para crear bancas, espacios para descansar o acceder, moduladas geométricamente. El espacio está a una distancia considerable de las vías principales que rodean el predio y se eleva 5 metros encima de la calle para evitar ver la ciudad. Se escogió la localización para que se aprovechara de esta altura y funcionara también como mirador hacia los cerros orientales, dirigiendo la vista a las montañas tanto del que sólo atraviesa el pabellón hasta el que permanece en él. Inhabit a pavilion to evoke reading and relaxation. By dwelling through the Virgilio Barco's park, a necessity of a space dedicated to linger, inhabit and provide shelter from the weather, without losing a direct relationship with the park and its surroundings, arose. Thus, a pavilion is created with thin, prefabricated wooden surfaces, stereotomic and simple, that by a pattern of repetition ultimately form a strereotomic 'Everything'. This in order to frame the view of the inhabitant that treads through the Virgilio Barco's park until approaching the square, as to give more privacy and calm in the interior. From the outside, the pavilion looks like two simple orthogonal Cs, but on the inside it is filled with geometrically modulated curves that increase or decrease in height to create benches, spaces to rest or access. The space is located at a considerable distance of the main streets and is elevated 5 meters from the street in order avoid seeing the city. This location was chosen so to capture the Cerros Orientales in a perfect frame, taking advantage of its height and guiding the view to the mountains to not only the one who crosses the pavilion, but the one who inhabits it.
