Located in a rural village in Southern Senegal within a plot of 45 meters longs by 15 meters wide.

Project Description​​​​​​​

In a rural village located in the southern region of Senegal, we envisioned a maternity centre that would go beyond traditional healthcare provision. Our primary objective was to ensure adequate hygiene and health conditions for women and newborn, significantly reduce mortality rates, and protect their right to medical care. However, we aimed for a holistic approach, integrating additional functionalities into the maternity center to serve the broader needs of the community. Besides offering delivery and health care services, we designed the center to include spaces that foster social interaction and economic productivity. Recognizing the therapeutic benefits of social engagement and productive activities, we incorporated healing social spaces within the center. These spaces are intended to provide a supportive environment where women can interact, share experiences, and offer mutual support during and after pregnancy. Furthermore, we introduced a dedicated farming area and a workspace for sewing, empowering women with the tools and opportunities to engage in productive activities.
