Design Brief: Conceptualise and design a visual language for print media for the Graduation Design Showcase on the theme "Intellectualising Fashion" for the Department of Fashion Communication (Batch of 2022) of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru (India).

O Fashion Thou Art Kairos

Concept: Fashion in simple words is the popular aesthetic expression at a particular time.

Time is what defines fashion. Italian Philosopher Giorgio Agamben interestingly connects fashion to the qualitative Ancient Greek concept of kairos, meaning "the right, critical, or opportune moment", and clothing to the quantitative concept of chronos, the personification of chronological or sequential time.

Chronos- Chronological, Sequential, quantitative

Kairos- Right, opportune, supreme, qualitative.

Kairos is the perfect, delicate, crucial moment of fleeting rightness of time and place that creates the auspicious atmosphere for action, words, or movement. Or any Fashion trend.

The Graduation Design Showcase of the year 2022 is a beautiful upcoming Kairos that will celebrate the intellectual side of fashion and bring a righteous opportune moment in the lives of the Class of 2022.

Visual Inspiration: Kairos

The red dot in the centre symbolises Kairos in the spiral journey of Intellectualising Fashion. At the same time it resembles NIFT Bangalore's 25th anniversary logo.

The halftone backdrop is a reference of pop culture and adds depth to the design.
