ABOUT PROJECT
This project is a 150 sq.m. townhouse located in the picturesque suburb of Kyiv, in the city of Bucha. The original layout of the house was standard and inefficient, with a large number of small and ineffective rooms, creating a sense of confinement. Our primary goal was to rethink the space to ensure maximum functionality with minimal interior partitions and furnishings.
On the first floor, we almost entirely eliminated bulky partition elements, replacing them with low structures and smooth, rounded forms. One such element is a low wardrobe that simultaneously zones the entryway and conceals the staircase to the basement level, adding lightness and dynamism to the space.
The second floor became the location for the main living areas: the master suite, the children's room, and the study. By reducing the corridor size, we significantly expanded the personal spaces of each family member, making the rooms more spacious and functional. The high ceilings, reaching up to 5.5 meters, give the spaces a sense of freedom and airiness. Moreover, thanks to the ceiling height, we were able to create an additional playroom, conveniently situated above the corridor and master bathroom, maximizing the use of the home's vertical space.
This project is an example of how a standard house can be transformed into a unique, spacious, and comfortable home, perfectly adapted to the needs of a modern family.

KITCHEN-DINNING ZONE
When designing spaces with an open-plan layout, we often follow the principle of integrating and concealing the kitchen within the living area as much as possible. We applied this approach here as well, embedding a block of cabinets between the walls and selecting a color that allows them to blend seamlessly with the surroundings.
In contrast, we decided to highlight the kitchen island. Its facade is adorned with a grooved panel that complements the tile beautifully, and by raising it on legs, we gave it a light, airy appearance. We also added a few vibrant color accents to bring some dynamism to the design. As a result, the island becomes a sort of art object and serves as a stunning focal point of the dining area.
LIVING ZONE
In the living room, the focal point is undoubtedly the sofa. Its size and design allow for flexible arrangement. You can position the backrest to relax while enjoying the view of the fireplace, or arrange it for movie watching. Additionally, the sofa can be moved closer to the dining area to create extra seating around the table.
GUEST BATHROOM
On the ground floor, we aimed to create a cohesive space, and the bathroom was no exception. We opted for the same tiles used in the kitchen-living area and added distinctive patterned wallpaper. Since the clients initially wanted their home to be engaging, with vibrant color accents and unique details, they greatly appreciated these choices.
MASTER BEDROOM
During the process, we realized that among the many unique and colorful solutions, there needed to be a space for relaxation. That space became the bedroom. Here, we used mainly pastel tones and natural materials. To maintain a cohesive style throughout the home, we chose bedding with a pattern reminiscent of the small-format tiles often featured in the interior design.
MASTER BATHROOM
The master bathroom is located on the second floor, perpendicular to the two main rooms— the children's room and the master bedroom. For the finish, we decided to keep the exposed brick, which will look great with decorative lighting. Additionally, we lowered the ceiling height slightly to accommodate a children's playroom above.
