The Naomi Milgrom Foundation has unveiled an expanded program for the Living Cities Forum 2024, Australia’s premier event for urban designers, thinkers, and placemakers that fosters connections between big global thinkers and local doers.
Taking place in Melbourne and Sydney, this year’s forum promises a stellar line-up of international keynote speakers addressing the theme of ‘Common Interests’. Plus, there’s an exclusive discount offer for Yellowtrace Readers—read on to find out more.
Global Perspectives on Urban Design
The global program features cross-disciplinary speakers who share inspiring, actionable ideas to improve the cities of today and tomorrow.
Joining the already impressive roster are two visionary figures in architecture and urbanism: Nathalie de Vries, Co-founder of Dutch architectural firm MVRDV, known for innovative and joyful mixed-use buildings that transform urban spaces; and Professor Lesley Lokko OBE, Founder of the African Futures Institute and curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023, recently named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2024.
These additions round out a diverse panel of speakers, which includes landscape architect Martí Franch, coder and artist Catherine d’Ignazio, architect Kabage Karanja, and landscape architect Jill Desimini.
Reimagining Public Spaces
With Melbourne and Sydney on track to become megacities by 2050, the forum couldn’t be more timely. It offers a unique opportunity to explore progressive ideas and solutions for reimagining public spaces amidst population growth, increased densities, and climate challenges.
