在過去看電視已成現代人在家時，花最長時間進行的活動，所以空間的核心區域成為了客廳，也是最重要的家庭核心，但隨著影音串流平台及各類平板家電越來越普及後，收視習慣的改變，對電視的依賴性也慢慢減少，當核心空間只能制式使用時，反而更顯擁擠。將機能結合，利用餐桌或臥榻取代沙發，能提升坪效，也能讓整體空間視覺更加寬敞，利用書架取代電視牆，打造寬闊且可彈性利用的公共區域，降低對影視娛樂的依賴性，更能增加親子間的互動感受。

People had spent most time watching TV when they were home, and hence the living room became the major core of space and family. Yet with the rising streaming media and popular mobile devices, changed viewing habits cause less demand for TV.By integrating the room functions such as replacing the sofa with a dining table or couch, floor space is increased and the whole room is more spacious. With TV on the wall replaced with bookshelves, a wide and flexible shared space is created, reducing reliability of entertainment and increasing parent-children interaction.

The most relaxing moment for a family of four is when everyone is reading quietly and relaxing in the room instead of binge-watching TV, so the living and studying areas are integrated. Bookshelves and desks comprise the reading room instead of a living room. The dining table and couch by the window are combined to create a comfortable space for people to sit and relax. The bookshelves on the wall connect the main walkways of the areas and stretch through the room, allowing all family to move around the space easily and interact with each other in a shared space so they spend more time together.
