这个20世纪70年代牧场主的改造涉及将一个起伏不定的4卧室平面图转换成一个宽敞的1卧室住宅。该项目的目标是创造一个更适合这对夫妇的生活方式的家，同时也提高了该物业的整体能源效率。

This remodel of a 1970’s rancher involved converting a choppy 4 bedroom floor plan into a spacious 1 bedroom home.  The goal of the project was to create a home that better suited the couple's lifestyle, while also improving the overall energy efficiency of the property.

在两年的建设过程中，房主们住在圆顶帐篷里，即使是两年前极地涡旋风暴袭击该地区的时候。这次经历激励他们完全脱离电网，在房子里安装了太阳能电池板、特斯拉备用电池和雨水收集装置，以防未来停电。

Throughout the two-year construction process, the homeowners lived on the property in a yurt, even during the polar vortex storm that hit the area two years ago.   This experience inspired them to go fully off the grid, adding solar panels, Tesla backup batteries, and rainwater collection to the property in case of future power outages.

多亏了这些升级，房主们能够在最近的冰暴中脱离电网，这场冰暴使他们的社区停电。这种创新的解决方案为他们提供了可靠的能源来源，即使社区的其他人都处于黑暗之中。

Thanks to these upgrades, the homeowners were able to go off-grid during the recent ice storm that knocked out power in their neighborhood. This innovative solution provided them with a reliable source of energy, even when the rest of the community was left in the dark.
