Project: Modern Spa-Inspired Bathroom Area: 9.6 m²
Challenges: 1. Outdated Layout 2. Limited Space 3. Bidet and Tub Integration 4. Spa-Like Ambiance 5. Seamless Flow with Existing Master Bedroom
This bathroom redesign is a project close to my heart, as it captures the essence of creating a space that serves as both a functional area and a peaceful retreat. The clients, a couple who wanted a clean, modern look, sought to transform their outdated bathroom into a calming, spa-like sanctuary that would flow effortlessly with their master bedroom.
The existing layout posed a significant challenge, especially with the limited space. Incorporating both a tub and shower and a toilet and a bidet duo, as well as ensuring ample room for two people, required careful spatial planning. I approached the design with a minimalist mindset, focusing on maximizing space while enhancing the sense of relaxation.
The double vanity area, framed by large windows, invites natural light into the space, further amplifying the calm and refreshing atmosphere. The greenery on open shelving and the woven laundry baskets add a touch of nature, enhancing the overall spa-like ambiance.
The wet room concept was key to this transformation. By placing the bathtub and shower in one open, seamless area, the design not only allowed for a more spacious feel but also embodied the modern, clean aesthetic the clients desired. The materials were carefully selected, with soft, neutral tones dominating the space. Natural textures, such as the earthy floor tiles (travertine), were paired with sleek, contemporary fixtures, creating a balance between warmth and simplicity.
Every detail, from the black fixtures to the subtle curve of the bathtub, was designed to contribute to the tranquility of the space. This bathroom is not just a renovation; it’s a retreat, a place where my clients can unwind and escape the stresses of daily life in their own home.
