Concept: Contribution of Indian literature and Universities in world's progress
India has a vast contribution to the world’s knowledge in various fields. Despite being a developing country, India is compared with developed countries when it comes to knowledge, literature and education.
Since ancient times, Indian universities and literature have played a significant role in this progress. Nalanda is one such university, which is also knows as the first 'world university'. The social, political conditions during the Mauryan reign helped these universities flourish.
Vision and mission:To put forward the contribution of Indian literature and universities in the progress of the country and, by extension, the world.
Mood board: The inspirations for visual language were Nalanda University and Mauryan architecture
Significant imagery:
1. Ashok Chakra: It is a symbol of duty. There are 24 spokes in the Ashoka Chakra which represents 24 qualities of a person. It is believed that these 24 paths can lead any nation to greatness. Ashok chakra has been used in the Indian flag as well.
2. Carvings: Each wall has 2.5D surface which mimics the wall sculptures from the Mauryan architecture
Welcome counters:
There are two entrances and hence one welcome counter at each entrance.
Stage and seating: The stage utilizes one of the walls of the book shop. The screen can be used during presentations and/or screenings.
