Set along the Brooklyn waterfront, the Kent Avenue penthouse offers sweeping views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. Designed by Norm Architects, this space blends New York’s industrial vibe with soft minimalism and tactile materials.
An open-plan layout defines the space, with elements added to distinguish different zones. Outside, a sunken terrace features a plunge pool—a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the spectacular views.
Spanning approximately 350 square meters, the penthouse takes up the entire top floor of a building along the river. It has two distinct living areas: one designed for family privacy and the other a fully equipped guest house.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows connect the home to breathtaking views and lush greenery on the expansive terrace. The serene interior offers balance to vibrant views outside, with soft textiles creating a warm, tactile environment.
Contemporary Design with Natural Inspiration
A bespoke kitchen by Vipp features a sleek black exterior and natural oak core, balancing style and functionality. The design includes a steel tabletop and folding fronts, optimizing space and providing versatile options.
Between the kitchen-dining area and living room, a large bookcase with a perforated steel back allows natural light to flow through. It preserves the connection between areas while delineating their distinct functions and showcases family treasures.
The adult suite includes an office, bedroom, walk-in closet, and bathroom, with a walkway lined with floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of terrace greenery. Translucent curtains soften the space.
A wooden bedframe with a headboard creates an alcove within the open space, functioning as both bed and closet. The design blurs boundaries between interior and exterior, introducing warmth and tranquility.
Crafted entirely from large grey stone slabs, the bathroom contrasts with the bedroom’s warm wooden tones. Elegant silver fixtures enhance its bold, minimalist look. Soft curtains add a tactile element, casting shadows from surrounding trees and greenery.
Guest Unit Offers Tranquil Elegance
The guest unit features a cozy, spacious layout with a well-appointed kitchen, living room, bedroom, small office nook, bathroom, and toilet. Designed with the same elegant style as the main apartment, it ensures cohesive, luxurious flow.
Every detail, from the soft color palette to clean lines, contributes to a sense of calm and sophistication. The unit provides a serene retreat, blending urban energy with tranquility.
