ONE PENGRUI, a world-influential landmark complex located in the core area of Guangzhou Finance City and standing near the river, is not only a shining pearl for the future development of Guangzhou, but also an important landmark for promoting the process of internationalization. To create a unique artistic landmark for ONE PENGRUI

广州，地处粤港澳大湾区的核心地带，得益于南中国最大水系珠江贯穿其中。广州从大江走向大海，成为了海上丝绸之路的发祥地、千年商都的所在。由秦汉至今以来，广州一直都是中国对外贸易的重要港口城市，更是中国古代海上丝绸之路的发祥地之一。约 400 年前，每年都有约近百艘外国商船漂洋过海，进入珠江口来到广州贸易，这也为当下 21 世纪海上丝绸之路奠定基础，开启中国与世界更深层次的经济互动，达成共同繁荣，具有极其重要的当代意义。

Guangzhou, located in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, benefits much from the Pearl River, the largest water system in South China, running through it. From the river to the sea, Guangzhou has become the birthplace of the Maritime Silk Road and home to a thousand-year commercial capital. Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, Guangzhou has always been an important port of China’s foreign trade, and it is also one of the birthplaces of China’s ancient Maritime Silk Road. About 400 years ago, every year, around 100 foreign merchant vessels crossed the ocean and entered the Pearl River estuary for trading in Guangzhou, thus laying the foundation for the current 21st century Maritime Silk Road, opening up deeper economic interaction between China and the world to achieve common prosperity, which is of great contemporary significance.

三江汇流，八口入海。珠江缔造了广州城的千年传奇，铸就了城市开放与包容的品格。AaRT 一间宅艺术以广州母亲河——珠江为灵感，开展以《海上丝绸之路》作为全区艺术战略规划的总策略，为项目实现多阶段多维度的艺术赋能。以广州致世界，以 1 号致未来。结合项目空间各区的功能特性，以珠江水的奔、兴、生、悦为故事脉络，联动勾勒全区艺术版图，四重维度构建项目的立体化艺术生活形态。

With three rivers converge and eight estuaries flowing into the sea, the Pearl River has created the millennium legend of Guangzhou City and shape the character of openness and inclusiveness of the city. Inspired by the Pearl River, the mother river of Guangzhou, AaRT team takes “Maritime Silk Road” as the overall strategy to achieve multi-stage and multi-dimensional artistic empowerment for the project, presenting unique Guangzhou to the whole world and contributing to the future with ONE PENGRUI. By incorporating the functional characteristics of each area within the project space, the project has woven an artistic landscape for the entire district. Following the narrative thread of the Pearl River’s rush, prosperity, vitality, and joy, a four-dimensional artistic lifestyle for the project has been constructed.

Through the global allocation of art resources, in collaboration with Goodwood’s famous artist Gerry Judah, the AaRT team creates a unique art landmark for ONE PENGRUI.

As a renowned international artist from London, Gerry Judah has created iconic public art landmarks for many top international projects over the past 30 years of his career. He is known for his innovative and bold designs, and has been invited by the world’s most prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed for several years to create spectacular art sculptures for top automotive brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, and Alfa Romeo. Gerry Judah has also created landmark public artworks for various public spaces, cultural centers, museums, galleries around the world. His works have become the objects of many international public and private collections, including the Charles Saatchi Collection in London, the Imperial War Museum in London, the David Roberts Collection in London, the Irina Hershman Collection in New York, and the Moorilla Museum in Australia.

Each of Gerry Judah’s works can evoke an unprecedented feeling through minimalist and abstract artistic language and super-scale volume, enabling them to undergo a profound and rich experience. In 2019, for Sharjah, one of the destinations of the ancient Maritime Silk Road in the Arab region, Gerry Judah presented The Scroll, an ancient Arabian art piece in a contemporary manner to encapsulate the shared emotions of people worldwide towards knowledge.

奔涌——广州·鹏瑞 1 号迎宾艺术作品，凝结着广州市民对未来新开发城市公共空间的期待，是广州·鹏瑞 1 号第一张对外亮相的艺术名片，需要为来访的客户展现出极致、国际、传承的项目特色。艺术家 Gerry Judah 通过永续相连的圆弧线条，在他极致的线条之下描绘出一朵奔涌向上的巨型浪花，呈现多元绽放的景象，以其极具力量感且圆满的姿态，以极具力量感的线条迸发出无穷无尽的力量。

Gush, the artwork of ONE PENGRUI, embodies the expectations of Guangzhou citizens for the future development of urban public space. It is the first art business card of ONE PENGRUI to be unveiled to the public, which aims to show the ultimate, international and heritage project characteristics for visitors. Artist Gerry Judah uses continuous circular lines to depict a giant wave surging upward under his extreme lines, presenting a scene of multiple blooms. With its powerful and complete posture, the powerful lines are bursting with endless power.

艺术家以简单的白，持续保持艺术作品赏的和谐与独到。将文化脉络转接至空间场域，于是围绕观看，或穿梭流动的动作，便呈现出多重语境的表达。

The artist continues to maintain the harmony and originality of the artworks with simple whiteness. The cultural context is transferred to the space, so that the movement of watching or shuttling around presents the expression of multiple contexts.

灯光印照变幻之景，在水景倒影映衬之下，这件雕塑艺术品以极限的形态与开阔的空间，牵引出更生动的想象。在夜晚的灯光幻化之下形成一朵盛开的木棉花献礼广州，透过作品，细细察觉，缓缓回味，检视那些生命中可见可感的记忆。

The changing landscape is reflected by lights, and against the reflection of the water, this sculpture artwork pulls out more vivid imagination with the extreme form and open space. Under the illusion of the night light, it forms a blooming bombax flower to dedicate to Guangzhou city. Through the artwork, visitors can carefully perceive, slowly thinking, and examine those visible and perceptible memories in life.
