When the concepts of 1940s and 1950s surrealist art and Italian modernist exhibition design were incorporated into one space, it marked the beginning of a new journey for British eyewear brand Cubitts!
Glasses are often associated with nearsightedness, but for Tom Broughton, founder of British eyewear brand Cubitts, a person's relationship with glasses is often determined by the time and environment in which they start wearing them, so glasses should be an object to be liked rather than forced to accept. Based on this philosophy, he founded Cubitts, an eyewear brand based in London, in 2013.
To integrate Cubitts' new flagship store into Angel, a bustling shopping and entertainment hub in north London, design studio Tutto Bene was asked to design the 60-square-metre space. The exterior is a classic yellow color, while the interior is decorated with ornaments related to different art movements, and is transformed into an "artist's loft" through comfortable perspective, reasonable spatial composition and painterly use of color.
