The Pinklay project is a unique retail space located on Road No. 7 in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, encompassing a built-up area of 2,500 square feet over two levels. As a prominent homegrown lifestyle brand, Pinklay aims to highlight Indian handcrafts with a vibrant design philosophy that encourages customers to "Travel with Pinklay." The design concept draws inspiration from Greek architecture infused with Indian elements, creating an immersive experience that resembles an art gallery.
This vision began with a striking façade featuring a bold hand-painted mural adorned with lotus motifs and the brand's signature blue, transforming an otherwise blank 90-foot wall into an eye-catching focal point. Inside, the layout emphasizes fluidity, achieved through the use of curved walls and organic shapes, facilitating a playful customer journey. The introduction of natural light through a double-height glass window enhances the inviting atmosphere. The connection between spaces is achieved through strategically placed archways that replace traditional walls, mitigating the challenges posed by an 8-foot ceiling height.
Additional design features include fluid, curved flooring made with grey Tandur stone, which complements the overall aesthetic. A new staircase adorned with a bright yellow feature wall leads to the first floor, showcasing furniture and rugs. Throughout the store, neutral walls harmonize with vibrant clothing and décor, allowing the products to take centre stage.
Overall, the Pinklay store encapsulates a lively, welcoming environment that reflects the brand's ethos, encouraging customers not just to shop but to engage and experience the beauty of Indian craftsmanship.
