Bada Studio:Rumah Haruku 的开始源于我们与客户 Tijn 与 Raisa 之间的一次咖啡会面。之所以喝咖啡,是因为 Tijn 对咖啡有着浓厚的兴趣,这是我们在项目推进过程中逐渐发现的。在会面中,他们讲述了自己的人生故事,Tijn 是科技企业的老板,Raisa 则是一位纺织品印花设计师和艺术家。他们的故事展现了他们与印度尼西亚的深厚渊源,尤其是 Raisa 的摩鹿加血统。他们还表达了自己对设计、建筑、当地材料和当地文化的浓厚兴趣,这与我们在建筑上的理念有着异曲同工之妙。这是他们从零开始设计的第一个项目,他们一直在寻找一位能够认同他们价值观的建筑师,因此他们完全信任我们来为他们建造家园。
Bada Studio:The beginning of Rumah Haruku started with a coffee between the clients, Tijn & Raisa, and us, Bada Studio. Coffee because it is a passion that Tijn has which we found along the way working into the project. During our meeting they talked about their life story, Tijn being a tech business owner and Raisa a textile print designer and artist. Their story showed how deep their connection is with Indonesia, especially with Raisa’s Moluccan roots. They also expressed their immersive interest in design, architecture, local materials, and local culture which shared a similar meaning with our approach in architecture. It was their first ever project they designed from scratch and they were looking for an architect that appreciated the same goals and therefore they put their full trust in us in creating their home.
客户希望为他们两个人和他们的两条狗建造一座私人别墅。他们希望自己的家既舒适又能接待朋友和亲人。基于这些考虑,他们要求有一个共享厨房、开放式餐厅、可扩展的客厅、户外露台和带有甲板的游泳池。在早期的讨论中,他们强调了他们对木制建筑的深厚喜爱,这种木质建筑彰显了印尼传统、简约而温馨的美感。
The clients wanted a private villa for the 2 of them and their 2 dogs. They aimed for a home that was comfortable yet at the same time was able to host friends and families. With these considerations, they requested a sharing kitchen, an open dining room, a living room that could expand, an outdoor terrace, and a swimming pool with decking. In the early discussions, they explained their profound love for wooden buildings highlighting a blend of Indonesian tradition & minimal yet homey aesthetics.
场地 The site
当我们的双脚踏进丛林时,我们就爱上了这个地方。这里有一个由成熟树木组成的完整生态系统,它们沿着陡坡蜿蜒而下,一条小溪就位于场地的底部。在我们最初发现入口的地方,后面是一片开阔的稻田,旁边种满了椰子树。这正是人们想象中的巴厘岛。这片土地散发着一股强大而舒适的能量,就像在森林中徒步旅行后想要到达的理想庇护所,我们希望将这种感觉融入到设计中。
We fell in love with the site as we buried our feet among the jungle. There is a whole ecosystem of mature trees, sloping steeply down on the search of the flowing water from a small river at the bottom of the site. Behind, where we first found an entrance, an open rice paddy field bordered by coconut trees. Exactly as one imagines Bali. The land reflected a strong and comfortable energy, like the kind of sheltered place you want to arrive to when you go on a hike through the forest, and we wanted to reflect this into the design.

作为我们设计理念的核心原则之一,我们的使命是保护大自然赋予我们的一切。所有成熟的树木都原封不动地被保留下来,并被融入到设计之中。建筑砌成之前所有的一切都保留在原地,让这座房子就像一直存在在这里。除了保护大自然给予我们的一切之外,我们还在这片土地上种植了大量的热带植物,增加了生物多样性。
As one of our core principles in our design philosophy, our mission was to preserve what nature has given. All mature trees are untouched and incorporated into the design. The house feels like it has been there forever, because what was there before us hasn’t changed. In addition to the idea of preserving what nature has given, and add some biodiversity, we added a numerous amount of tropical plants all over the land.
住宅 The House
当我们开始设计时,婆罗洲的传统长屋(“Rumah Panjang”)给了我们巨大的启发。这是一种长而窄的房屋,建在婆罗洲的雨林中央,以竹子和木材为材料,并采用巴厘岛常见的斜屋顶。该建筑的材料设计源自传统的印尼建筑,集中体现在使用当地采购材料建造的具有巴厘岛风格的坡屋顶上。
As we embrace taking inspiration from locality, for Rumah Haruku we got inspired by the traditional long-house of Borneo (“Rumah Panjang”), a long narrow shaped house stilted in the middle of the Borneo rainforest. The materiality was inspired by traditional Indonesian architecture reflected in the use of locally sourced materials together with the Balinese inspired hipped roof (Note: with the 2 different slopes – commonly seen in traditional Balinese architecture – Balinese: Grantang).
房屋的另一主要特点是可扩展的起居空间,其设计灵感也受到了“长屋”的启发,建筑周围的走廊被用作公共活动区域。这个空间是完全开放的,在室内和周围郁郁葱葱的热带自然之间建立了一种亲密的联系。空间打开时,起居室周围的长凳栏杆还可以作为额外的座位,使客厅的空间得以扩大,以容纳更大的聚会空间。
Another main feature of the house is the expandable living space, also inspired from “Rumah Panjang’s” design where the surrounding corridors are used for communal activities. The space is completely openable creating an intimate connection between the interior and the surrounding lush tropical nature. When opened, the bench railing surrounding the living space doubles as additional seating which allows the living room to enlarge for an expanded gathering space.
材料与色彩方案搭配 Materials & Color Palette
所有材料均来自当地。屋顶结构由 Bangkirai 木支撑,并覆盖有“sirap ulin”木瓦。门、窗、墙板和木地板均采用相同的Bangkirai 木材,以使整座建筑具有整体性。淋浴间和厨房地面铺设了水磨石地板,墙壁则铺贴了定制的水泥瓷砖。
All materials were sourced locally. The roof structure is supported by Bangkirai wood and covered with “sirap ulin” wooden shingles. Doors and Windows, wall panels, and wooden flooring use the same Bangkirai wood to have a synergy in the whole architecture. The shower and kitchen floors are covered with terrazzo flooring combined with custom made cement tiles applied to the walls.
此外,我们还使用了一种独特的材料“karpet lontar”,这是一种传统上用于巴厘岛仪式地板装饰的材料。在 Rumah Haruku,这种材料被用在了整个房屋的天花板,创造了一种质地和色彩的对比。
One unique material we used is “karpet lontar”, a material traditionally used for floor coverings in Balinese ceremonies. At Rumah Haruku it became the ceiling of the whole house creating a contrast of texture and colour.
家具与室内装饰 Furniture & Interiors
由于我们希望保持空间的整洁,因此家中的家具很少,所挑选的都是一些在岛上找到的由旧回收柚木制成的古董和复古风格的家具。装饰品大部分是由业主挑选的,因为他们对这些物品有着特殊的情感。卧室的挂毯来自 Flores 岛的贝纳村,这里靠近巴贾瓦,是业主 Raisa 祖母的出生地。
For furniture, there are very few pieces in the house as we wanted to keep the spaces clean. The pieces we selected are a variety of rustic and antique pieces we found on the Island made from old and recycled teak wood. Decorative pieces were mostly selected by the owners as some have very deep meanings to them. The bedroom tapestry is an “Ikat” from Bena Village, close to Bajawa, Flores, the birthplace of Raisa’s Grandmother.

All custom pieces were designed to be subtle. The built-in sofa was designed to fit perfectly into the space maximizing the use of the living room while creating continuity from the architectural lines (height of sofa = height of floor). The Kitchen, Bedframe, and hidden wardrobe was also designed to match architectural language and lines.
“ 一座基于传统构造而新生的现代建筑,它源于传统,长在丛林,融入当地,也归属自然。”
